Off-Broadway's ONE NIGHT WITH FANNY BRICE to Take Summer Hiatus

"One Night with Fanny Brice," which opened Off-Broadway at St. Luke's Theater on 46th Street in 2011 and moved to the 13th Street Theater (50 W. 13th St., New York City) in 2013, will go on summer hiatus following the Monday, June 9th performance. The show will resume performances at the 13th Street Theater in September. This summer, the show will play at the Open Eye Theater (Amie Brockway, Artistic Director) in the Catskills. The show is published/licensed by Leicester Bay Theatricals. The Off-Broadway cast album, released by Original Cast Records, is available from Amazon, CDBaby, iTunes, etc.

The June 9th performance at the 13th Street Theater will be videotaped by Peter Charney Productions. And after the performance, there will be a talkback with the show's current star, Chloe Brooks, playwright Chip Deffaa, and director Rachel Hundert. The show is going on hiatus at the theater to make room for the New York premiere of Deffaa's new musical play "Irving Berlin's America," opening June 15th. "One Night with Fanny Brice" is one of three plays about the legendary singing comedienne that Deffaa has written. The others are "Presenting Fanny Brice" (which premiered in New Ulm, Minnesota in 2012 and is published by Eldridge Plays & Musicals, www.histage.com) and "The Fanny Brice Story" (which premiered in Wayne, New Jersey in 2013 and is published by Leicester Bay Theatricals, www.leicesterbaytheatricals.com).
