Ann Morrison's MY FURNITURE SET Comes to Feinstein's/54 Below

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Ann Morrison (Merrily We Roll Along, Lovemusik, Goblin Market) in "My Furniture Set" on January 3rd, 7pm.

'My Furniture Set' with John Shirley at the piano, was inspired by the exquisite furniture at the Home Resource Contemporary Furnishings in Annie's home town Sarasota, Florida.

'My Furniture Set' takes us on a musical journey through the "furniture moments of our lives," in stories woven from Annie's life and songs-both the 4 original songs they created for this show and timeless classics from Musical Theater, Jazz, Pop and the Blues. John has great fun mischievously interacting with Annie making for a charming evening.

JOHN SHIRLEY has performed in many venues from L.A. to New York, including Reno Sweeney, Snafu, The Duplex and Don't Tell Mama. He has accompanied Harriet Leider, Richard Skipper, Meredith Patterson and many other performers. He has written two musicals, "THE LITTLEST WILD WEST FIGHTER (13th St. Theater, NYC) and HIT THE SURF (Cedar St. Playhouse, Wilmington, DE). John studied music composition at East Carolina University. He currently sings and plays piano three nights a week in Gulfport FL at Isabelle's in the Historic Peninsula Inn.

Ann Morrison in "My Furniture Set" plays Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on January 3rd at 7pm. Ann Morrison is excited to be back at Feinstein's/54 Below after her Bernstein/ Sondheim cabaret played to sold out audiences. She made her Broadway debut as Mary Flynn in Stephen Sondheim's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG directed by Harold Prince for which she won the 1982 Theatre World Award. In 2007, Harold Prince asked her to return to Broadway in LOVEMUSIK. On the West End in London, she starred in the new musical PEG based on "Peg O' My Heart". Off-Broadway she received a Drama Desk Award Nomination for the role of Lizzie in the musical GOBLIN MARKET, and was an original cast member of the popular revue Forbidden Broadway. Her work in the past 30 years has been in Regional Theaters throughout the country in original and classic musicals, Shakespeare and classic and original plays; Cabaret; Recordings; writing, directing and performing Solo Plays. She is Co-founder/Artistic Director of SaraSolo Productions, celebrating solo performers. She is developing a two-character play with co-writer Blake Walton based on comic genius Beatrice Lillie.
