AND THEN THE RODEO BURNED DOWN Extends at Ars Nova

Ahead of its May 31 opening, Ars Nova has extended the award-winning And Then The Rodeo Burned Down to July 2. The show marks the first Off-Broadway production of playwriting and performing duo Xhloe and Natasha, fresh off of winning the Sam Norkin Award at the 2026 Drama Desk Awards, and follows a sold-out appearance in Ars Nova's 2025 ANT Fest. Directed with Tom Costello, And Then The Rodeo Burned Down continues at Ars Nova (511 W 54th Street).

The rodeo is the best place in the world. Why would anybody burn it down? Dale, a rodeo clown with a big dream (and a mischievous shadow), certainly wouldn't. After all, Dale wants to be a cowboy. So, if we're going to find out who burned the rodeo down, we'll have to finish the play. And now there's fire involved? That sounds expensive.

And Then The Rodeo Burned Down, from three-time Edinburgh Fringe First Award winners Xhloe and Natasha, is a rowdy, lightning-fast story of ambition, heartbreak, and the cost of pursuing the thing you love. Fake cigarettes, real fire.

Co-Artistic Directors Andrew Neisler and Anna Morton Stacey remarked, “As soon as we met Xhloe and Natasha, we knew their work belonged at Ars Nova. Their savvy, mischievous comedy combines a downtown DIY aesthetic with a sly cultural critique that will surprise and delight everyone who sees it. We are so excited to introduce And Then The Rodeo Burned Down to New York theater audiences and give Xhloe and Natasha the launch they deserve!”

Xhloe and Natasha add, “We are so excited to get to fully share this show with a New York City audience. The show was created here, based in our struggle to make ends meet any way possible in one of the most artistically rich but also expensive places in the world. We couldn't imagine a better home than Ars Nova to help us share this show with the city we call home.”

The creative team for And Then The Rodeo Burned Down includes Emmie Finckel (set designer), Christopher Ford (co-Costume Designer), Angelo Sagnelli (lighting designer), Carsen Joenk (co-sound designer), and Cherie B. Tay (production stage manager).
