New Ballet Teacher Training Curriculum Announced

Though Anne Marie Kimmell and Katie Beliveau of Ashburn Academy of Dance have run a successful dance studio for seventeen years, they recently decided to share their knowledge with other teachers and studio owners by creating The Ballet Method, a ballet teacher training program.
Roanoke Children's Theatre Presents SEUSSICAL JR.

The classic SEUSSICAL JR. will be presented at the Scottish Rite Auditorium at the end of this week for two performances, Friday April 6th at 7 pm and Saturday April 7th at 2 pm. All 34 actors are students on their Spring Break who prefer singing and dancing and acting rather than being at home on their devices. This annual production is comprised of all ALL kids and called KIDS ON STAGE. It is different than the Main Stage shows in that the entire cast is made up of kids. (RCT's Main stage productions are made of adults in the leading roles and kids in age appropriate roles.)

Based on the 1967 Academy Award-winning film, Thoroughly Modern Millie will transport audiences back to the height of the Jazz Age in New York City in an era when women were first entering the workforce and rewriting the rules of love. Millie will perform at the Reston Community Center April 20-May 12.
BROADWAY IN RICHMOND ANNOUNCES ITS 2018-2019 SEASON at ALTRIA THEATER

Richmond, VA - Jam Theatricals announces the 2018 - 2019 Broadway In Richmond season, celebrating the 10th year of presenting the Broadway series in Richmond. The season launches with the return of the hit musical phenomenon Les Miserables; continues with the holiday classic Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer; followed by family favorite The Wizard of Oz; features the Richmond premieres of Waitress, the hit new musical featuring original music by Sara Bareilles and the hilarious new musical comedy set in the 90's, the 1590's - Something Rotten!; and back by popular demand The Book of Mormon. In addition to the season lineup, Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis will be an add-on option with any subscription package. Subscriptions and group sales for the season begin today, March 30, 2018. Individual ticket on-sale dates will be announced as each performance approaches. All Broadway In Richmond shows are engaged at Altria Theater.

Annual Band Candy Benefit Concert To Raise Funds For American Shakespeare Center Music

The American Shakespeare Center will end its Actors' Renaissance Season and kick off the Spring Season with the annual Band Candy Benefit Concert on Sunday, April 8 at 7:30pm. The concert features both the Actors' Renaissance and Spring Season troupes. Proceeds support the music at Blackfriars Playhouse performances and on tour by raising funds for instruments, music lessons, instrument upkeep, and more.

Due to extraordinary popular demand, Virginia Rep is pleased to announce the second extension of the one-woman play, Erma Bombeck: At Wit's End, starring Catherine Shaffner as the humorist/housewife, Erma Bombeck. Before the show opened, the play (originally slated to close on April 8th) was extended one week to close on to April 15th. The hilariously entertaining show, directed by John Moon, has been met with such popular and critical acclaim, an additional two week extension has been announced. Peter returns to his twenty-year high-school reunion with dreams of winning back Kari, the girl he left behind after an unexpected pregnancy ended their relationship. Standing in Peter's way is Kari's bitter-as-ever resentment, her husband and the fact that Peter still hasn't grown up. As the night progresses, both Peter and Kari are led, through their interactions with a host of characters all played by a virtuosic Narrator, to face the consequences of choices made long ago and start back into life with newfound strength and bittersweet resolve.
