Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces new Summer 2017 performances at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, including additional acts on the Filene Center stage, the complete Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods schedule, and a promotional events schedule.

"Wolf Trap was conceived as the 'People's Park' - a cultural haven that offers something for everyone - which is why the summer season is almost unimaginably eclectic. Nowhere else can you hear TLC, Sting, and Gustavo Dudamel - all in one week. And while the roster of top-notch artists changes from season to season, the experience fans have of hearing their favorite artists, surrounded by loved ones, on warm summer nights in our beautiful National Park, is timeless."

New acts added to the Filene Center season include two nights with Sting, Wilco, Lionel Richie, Dashboard Confessional with The All-American Rejects, Lifehouse and Switchfoot, stars of the hit CMT series in Nashville in Concert, Il Divo, YES featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin & Rick Wakeman and more.

Other favorites return to the stage including the B-52s, Kenny Loggins, and WAR with Los Lonely Boys. Additional debut acts include Michael Bolton, Rick Springfield and Richard Marx, and The Ambassador: Jimi Hendrix -a special tribute concert honoring Jim Hendrix's 75th birthday and the 50th anniversary of The Jimi Hendrix Experience's debut at The Ambassador Theater in Washington, D.C., featuring Fishbone, Nona Hendryx, Ernie Isley, Judith Hill, Liv Warfield, and Brandon Niederauer "Taz."View the full calendar here.

Wolf Trap's Summer 2017 season kicks off on May 25 with a stellar opening weekend featuring performances by Mary J. Blige and Fifth Harmony, and the annual free 2017 Summer Blast Off! with the United States Marine Band and a fireworks show. Tickets for these and other previously announced performances are on sale now. Tickets for all newly announced performances go on sale to members (donors of $75 and up) beginning Monday, April 17, and are available to the general public beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22.

The complete schedule for Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods was also announced. Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods welcomes families, school groups, camps, caregivers, and their young ones, and often serves as children's first live performance experience. Performances across genres - puppetry, storytelling, dance, theater and folk - occur six days a week from June 20 through August 5.

Throughout the spring and summer, Wolf Trap will participate in community events across the region, including Farragut Fridays, Jazz at Franklin Park, and Southwest BID in the District, the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival and Roer's Zoofari in Reston, and Rosslyn BID in Arlington. These events will feature music, food trucks or concession options, lawn games, and chances to win tickets to performances at the Filene Center.
