Richmond Symphony Presents Ann Hampton Callaway In THE STREISAND SONGBOOK

Join the Richmond Symphony in celebrating the music of one of America's most enduring musical artists. Don't miss Ann Hampton Callaway - The Streisand Songbook on Saturday, March 11 at 8pm. Singing timeless classics from five decades of Barbra Streisand's multi-faceted career, Platinum Award Winning singer-songwriter AnnHampton Callaway will perform iconic hits such as "Don't Rain on My Parade" and "Cry Me a River." The Symphony Pops concert will be led by Associate Conductor Chia-Hsuan Lin and held at the Carpenter Theatre, Dominion Arts Center.

Ann Hampton Callaway is one of the leading champions of the great American Songbook, having made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host and producer. A born entertainer with a unique singing style that blends jazz and traditional pop, she was recently voted by Broadwayworld.com as "Performer of the Year." She is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical Swing! and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series The Nanny. She has collaborated with Cole Porter, and written songs with Carole King, Rolf Lovland and Barbara Carroll. Her songs have also been featured on seven of Barbra Streisand's recent CDs.

About the Richmond Symphony

Founded in 1957, the Richmond Symphony is the largest performing arts organization in Central Virginia. The organization includes an orchestra of more than 70 professional musicians, the 150-voice Richmond Symphony Chorus and more than 260 students in the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra programs. Each season, more than 200,000 members of the community enjoy concerts and radio broadcasts. The Symphony also provides educational outreach programs to over 50,000 students and teachers. The Richmond Symphony is partially funded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
