Hill Country Community Theatre announces open auditions for

“Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery”

The Hill Country Community Theatre is seeking 1 woman and 4 men to play comedic characters in the third show of their 2018-19 season, “Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery” written Ken Ludwig (“Moon Over Buffalo,” “Lend Me a Tenor.”) Auditions are Monday, December 3 and Tuesday, December 4 at 7:00 PM at the theatre, 4003 W FM 2147, Cottonwood Shores, TX 78657. Sides from the script will be provided at the audition for cold readings. The show will be directed by Kay Baker.

The roles are: Sherlock Holmes, Doctor Watson, Actor One, Actor Two, and Actress One. You must have great versatility and nimbleness physically and vocally. Actor One, Actor Two and Actress One play multiple roles and use multiple dialects.

This play is a comedy based on a novel by Arthur Conan Doyle, and done in the style of “The 39 Steps.” A wild hellhound prowls the moors of Devonshire, dispatching the male heirs of the Baskerville line one by one. Sherlock Holmes is on the case. To find the ingenious killer Holmes and Watson must brave the desolate moors before a family curse dooms its newest heir.

Rehearsals will begin December 10 and will be on most weekday evenings, and some weekends as the opening of the show approaches. Production dates are for three weeks, February 14 through March 3, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, Sunday matinees at 2:15 PM.
