THERESE MALFATTI, female, 23-30. Minor noblewoman with big ambition. Former love interest and current student of BEETHOVEN.

ELISE BARENSFELD, female, 18-20 but needs to play 14-16. Starry-eyed student of BEETHOVEN.

MAELZEL and LUDWIG NOHL, males 35-60 (played by one actor). MAELZEL is an inventor and charlatan, friend to BEETHOVEN. NOHL is a bookish musicologist.

BABBETT BREDL, female, 45-65. Frumpy middle class woman.
