SERIAL KILLERS - Nikki El Films & Theatre Non Equity Auditions

Nikki El Films & Theatre

Posted August 17, 2026

Serial Killers: The Crucifixion of the Black Man in America is an original stage production exploring the Black experience in America through history, storytelling, and performance. The play examines themes of racism, state violence, resistance, survival, and the continued struggle for justice while connecting historical events to the present day.

We are currently seeking one African American man or woman to serve as an understudy for the upcoming Houston production.

The actor should be comfortable portraying multiple characters and performing material that addresses serious themes related to Black history, racism, policing, slavery, and social justice.

Rehearsals: Late August through mid-October 2026
Rehearsals will include a combination of virtual and in-person rehearsals in Houston.

Performance Dates: October 17 & 18, 2026
Location: Houston, Texas
Compensation: Unpaid understudy position

Actors selected to audition will receive a short selection from the script in advance to prepare for the audition.

Previous acting experience is welcome but is not required. We are especially interested in performers who connect with the subject matter and are excited about using theatre to tell powerful stories about Black history and the Black experience in America.

Interested performers should complete the audition interest form to be considered
