The Del McCoury Band at Newton Theatre

Del McCoury has remained one of bluegrass music's most influential voices across more than six decades, preserving its traditions while pushing its boundaries. In 1963, Bill Monroe invited McCoury to join the legendary Blue Grass Boys, where he learned bluegrass directly from its creator. The modern Del McCoury Band features Del McCoury, Ronnie McCoury, Rob McCoury, Alan Bartram, and Christian Ward, and has earned multiple GRAMMY Awards and 10 IBMA Entertainer of the Year honors. Their collaborations with Steve Earle, Phish, and festival appearances have introduced bluegrass to wide new audiences.
