On Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 4:00 pm the acclaimed organist Christopher Houlihan performs a solo recital at Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart (89 Ridge Street, Newark NJ 07104). The performance marks the opening concert of the 50th season of Cathedral Basilica's Concert Series. The program includes music by J.S. Bach, Robert Schumann, Louis Vierne, and more. Admission is by $15 suggested donation, details are below.

Houlihan's Disney Hall debut, performing with principal brass of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, resulted in The LA Times raving, "Houlihan is the next big organ talent." Recent concert highlights include debuts at the Kennedy Center and Kimmel Center, and concertos with the Columbus (GA) Symphony and Chamber Orchestra of Boston. Houlihan has recently been appointed the John Rose College Organist-and-Directorship Distinguished Chair of Chapel Music at Trinity College in Hartford, his alma mater.
