The program features three groundbreaking works by some of today’s most compelling choreographers: Jewel Box by Lauren Lovette, inspired by the inner workings of an antique music box—its comb, winding key, and spring housing—evoking the childhood wonder of watching a tiny ballerina spin in timeless motion; In Creases by Justin Peck, an intricately structured, musically driven work set to a score for two pianos—which marked his choreographic debut with New York City Ballet; and New Ancient Strings by Harrison Ball, a richly textured piece that blends classical form with modern edge with costumes designed by Zac Posen. Together, these works reflect ballet’s evolving language—bold, expressive, and unmistakably current.
