Through contemporary dance, multimedia presentation, and interactive dialogue, choreographer and master teacher Carolyn Dorfman, a child of Holocaust survivors, and her breathtaking company take audiences on a powerful historical and cultural journey. Dorfman’s 12-member, multi-ethnic company presents excerpts of her acclaimed works, Mayne Mentshn (My People) and Cat’s Cradle, works that “speak” about the Holocaust and Genocide and this universal story of pain and sadness, as well as American immigration and redemption. In commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27th), this extraordinary performance speaks to our ongoing issues with immigration, acceptance of others and learning to celebrate our uniqueness and commonalities. It shares art, history, dialogue, and a call to social action.
Kean Stage is at 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ.
