Franco, the young writer, wants to update the old shop with healthy choices, music, and friendlier service. However, Arthur, the shop owner, wants to remain set in his ways.Performance Dates: October 25, 26, 27, 31, November 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONSARTHUR PRZYBYSZEWSKI (SHUB-ER-SHEF-SKI) Male late 50s Polish-American, owner ofhis immigrant parents dated donut shop, an ex-hippie draft-dodger who lives adisappointed and unambitious life, fight choreography will be required of the character.FRANCO WICKS African American (Male) early 20s intelligent and idealistic, has writtenwhat he considers the new Great American Novel all he needs is validation, hasmassive gambling debts and has taken a break from college to work.MAX TARASOV Male 45-55 Russian immigrant who owns the video shop next door; ahumorous bigot without being aware of it, he is ambitious and good natured. Must be able tolearn a slight Russian accent.OFFICER RANDY OSTEEN Female 40-50 neighborhood officer, kind, helpful, interested inArthur though he is unaware.OFFICER JAMES BAILEY African American Male 35 -45 Randys beat partner, a matter of factguy who is a Star Trek fan.LADY BOYLE Female 60+ Homeless woman, often less than lucid, counts on Arthur for ahandout daily, has moments of clarity and wisdom.LUTHER FLYNN Male 40-50 Irish/Italian American, a thug, loan shark, and bookie. Has achronic ulcer, pops antacids. Not someone you want as an enemy. Fight choreography will berequired of this character.KEVIN MAGEE Male 20- 30s Irish thug, Flynns minion. Not a nice guy.KIRIL IVANKIN Male 20s- 30s Recent Russian Immigrant, nephew of Max. Should be big andlook scary a strongman type.
