UCPAC to Host CELTRIC PRIDE Irish Celebration, 3/13
The Union County Performing Arts Center will present Celtic Pride, a craftily blended celebration of Irish culture told through stories, dance and song, on March 13 at 2 p.m. at the UCPAC Mainstage.
The show features a troupe of talented dancers from the Curran School of Irish Dance, choreographed by Sinead Curran Normant, who performed with RIVERDANCE on Broadway and was the four-time North American Champion for Irish Step Dancing.
Weaving the evening together with song, stories, poetry and music, will be Master Storyteller Frank Curran. Bringing authentic Irish charm and a bit of the Blarney, Frank will make you feel right at home with his unique brand of Irish storytelling. Under the leadership of Alyson Whelan-Rios, an accomplished violinist who has played on numerous occasions with CELTIC WOMAN, a mighty quartet will have you stomping your feet and clapping along with classics, favorites and blood-pumping Irish rhythms.
Rounding out our bar troupe of performers will be five singers who prove that everyone has a little Irish in them, especially on St. Patrick's Day. Champion of Fearless Icon Drew Cyburt, Fearless Icon Finalists Howard Whitmore and Suzanne Ramsey-Restivo and Fearless Icon Favorites Alicia Cordero and fresh from his run in Celtic Fire (#1 Best Theme Park Entertainment in USA Today's 10 Best) Ben Simons will inspire you to sing along to some old-time favorites and to cheer with powerful Irish anthems throughout the night, making you feel you're comfortably sidled on a stool in a pub on a Dublin street.
