New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with Singer and songwriter Jill Scott - three-time Grammy winner for hits including "He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)," performs "Fool's Gold," "A Long Walk," "The Way" and many sensuous R&B favorites. Thursday, August 11, 2016 8:00 PM at Prudential Hall.

Longtime comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short will play a one-night only show at New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Sunday, October 30 at 7:00pm. The show, "An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life," includes stand-up, film clips, musical numbers and conversations about their lives in show business. Martin and Short will also be joined by the Grammy-winning Steep Canyon Rangers, the bluegrass band with which Martin frequently performs and keyboardist Jeff Babko. The two veteran comics co-starred in the 1986 film "Three Amigos!" The longtime friends share an easy rapport, "move from banter to schtick with ease (Boston Globe)" and their acclaimed traveling variety show has performed to overwhelming audiences and rave reviews. "It was obvious Martin and Short were thrilled to be on stage together," reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "For comedy connoisseurs in the crowd, watching Martin and Short together, still at the top of their game, felt like the realization of a longtime dream."

Styx takes over Prudential Hall Thursday, September 22, 2016 7:30 PM. The Styx draws from over four decades of chart hits, joyous singalongs and hard-driving deep cuts: "Renegade," "Come Sail Away," "Blue Collar Man," "Too Much Time on My Hands" and many more!

Jill Scott:
Singer and songwriter Jill Scott - three-time Grammy winner for hits including "He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)," performs "Fool's Gold," "A Long Walk," "The Way" and many sensuous R&B favorites. Equally acclaimed as a poet and actress (The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency on HBO), Scott starred alongside Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson in Why Did I Get Married? and was featured in Sins of the Mother and Steel Magnolias, both on Lifetime. Her award-winning albums include The Light of the Sun, Who Is Jill Scott? and others. She is the author of the New York Times' bestseller The Moments, The Minutes, The Hours, a compilation of poems, and the founder of Blues Babe, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support minority students pursuing college degrees.

Steve Martin:
Steve Martin began his career on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, for which he earned his first Emmy Award for writing in 1969. During the mid-'70s he shone as a stand-up on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and appeared on HBO's On Location and NBC's Saturday Night Live. Martin's widely popular films include The Jerk, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Roxanne, Parenthood and Father of the Bride.

Martin Short:
Martin Short, a celebrated comedian and actor, has won fans and accolades in TV, film and theater since his breakout season on Saturday Night Live almost 30 years ago. He became a fan favorite for his portrayal of characters such as Ed Grimley, lawyer Nathan Thurm and "legendary songwriter" Irving Cohen. Short's popularity on SNL led him to cross over quickly into feature films. He made his debut in Three Amigos, followed by roles in Inner Space, Three Fugitives, Father of the Bride, Clifford, Mars Attacks!, Madagascar 3 and Frankenweenie.

Styx:
Multimillion-selling rock band Styx has forged an indelible legacy both on record and onstage. Drawing from over four decades of barn-burning chart hits, joyous singalongs, and hard-driving deep cuts. Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement, Styx were transformed into an arena rock prototype by the late '70s and early '80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads. The band's live prowess has endured through commitment, preparation, and an unbending devotion to artistry. The six men currently comprising Styx have committed to rocking the Paradise together making the next show better than the last. "Every night, we go on that magic carpet ride together," observes original bassist Chuck Panozzo. The current line up is: James "JY" Young (lead vocals, guitars), Tommy Shaw (lead vocals, guitars), Chuck Panozzo (bass, vocals), Todd Sucherman (drums, percussion), Lawrence Gowan (lead vocals, keyboards), Ricky Phillips (bass, guitar vocals).
