Three Dog Night Coming to bergenPAC

By:
Bergen Performing Arts Center located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey presents Three Dog Night - Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 8PM. Purchase tickets at www.ticketmaster.com or Box Office at 201.227.1030.

Legendary music icons, THREE DOG NIGHT, celebrate their 4th decade bringing with them some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets than THREE DOG NIGHT.

THREE DOG NIGHT's hits wind through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures - songs like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)", "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Shambala" and "One" serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize THREE DOG NIGHT's continuing popularity.

As they mark more than 40 years on the road, THREE DOG NIGHT continue to grow their fan base with their well-loved hits, delivered in their unmistakable style, and performed for audiences spanning generations.

On The Recent Death of Singer Cory Wells

The band decided to continue to tour after the recent death of singer Cory Wells. According to the band's agency, WME, prior to his death, Cory Wells had been concerned about cancelling shows and disappointing Three Dog Night's fans, so he encouraged the band to get back out on the road.

The band took Wells' recommendation and invited one of his favorite singers to join Three Dog Night when they resume the tour in November. "Our hearts are heavy," said Danny Hutton, the band's founder, "but we are going to honor Cory's wishes and continue. He'll always be with us in spirit." Los Angeles based performer/instrumentalist/songwriter David Morgan has joined Three Dog Night on the road. David has toured and recorded with a variety of artists including George Martin, Ray Charles (who recorded his song, "Now I Don't Believe That Anymore"), Dolly Parton, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Bruce Hornsby as well as working for many years with TV/film composer Mike Post.

"David has a super versatile voice that stands out on the bluesy leads as well as warmer lyrical songs," says Danny Hutton, "plus he blends beautifully with the rest of the band on harmonies. He has come in with a lot of grace but no drama or ego and allowed us to get back to a more original three-voice structure on a lot of the hits. Our first show was really well received and we feel very good about upcoming shows."
