Nine New Jersey playwrights are showcased in The Theater Project's Kaleidoscope Kabaret, an annual festival of one-act plays which runs November 21, 22, and 23 at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts in Maplewood. Eight of the plays are by members of The Theater Project's Playwrights Workshop, which regularly offers presentations and discussion of new work. Member playwrights participating in this year's Kabaret are Susan Barsky of Millburn, Charles Denk of Princeton, Jewel Seehaus of Fisher of Highland Park, Luigi Jannuzzi of Hillsborough, Ed Lataro of Toms River, Mike McGoldrick of Jersey City, Joseph Vitale of Denville and Mary Jane Walsh of Basking Ridge.

The Festival is rounded out by high school student Emily Donegan, whose one-act play MECHANICAL ADVANCEMENT was a prize winner in The Theater Project's annual Young Playwrights Competition in March 2014. Each year, The Theater Project selects one of the three winning plays from the contest to be performed in the Kabaret as an incentive for young writers. Emma attends the Bergen County Academy in Hackensack.

Tickets for the KALEIDOSCOPE KABARET are $20 for adults and $10 for students; they can be purchased at the door or online at www.thetheaterproject.org, The Theater Project, an award-winning New Jersey theater company based in Maplewood and Cranford, is known for presenting outrageous comedy as well as drama with social commentary.
