The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC to Host Summner Dance Intensive Program

The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC announces its Summer Dance Intensive Program. Classes are the weeks of July 11, 2016 and August 8, 2016. Classes will take place at the Third Floor Theater studio at bergenPAC located at 38 North Van Brunt Street, Englewood, NJ. If not currently enrolled in beyondDANCE at bergenPAC, placement classes are available before June 1. Please email artistic director, Roberta Mathes at rmathes@bergenPAC.org for level placement.

Each summer, beyondDANCE offers two 2-week dance intensives, in July and August, led by beyondDANCE Artistic Director, Roberta Mathes. These summer intensives are ideal for pre-professional dancers, who wish to improve their technical abilities, gain more confidence and a deeper understanding of their potential in a short amount of time. "My goal is to make each dancer that steps into my class mentally focused, physically aware, and technically stronger in order to free their bodies of bad habits and expand their abilities!" said Roberta Mathes.

Curriculum includes daily classes in ballet - (repertory, character, partnering), contemporary/improvisation, modern jazz, and Ethnic or African dance. These intensives are taught by our professional faculty and NYC Guest Artists. Each two week intensive culminates with an in-studio dance presentation. "When I started at beyondDANCE I had very little technical training. The dance intensive helped me grow as a performing artist and I learned that in dance sometimes you have to take a step backward in order to move forward," said Rachel Jarvis, beyondDANCE alumn.

Session 1: July 11-21

Session 2: August 8-18

Monday - Thursday

10:00AM - 4:00PM

Fees:

$750 per session

$650 if paid in full by March 1, 2016

$1,400 for both sessions

(Lunch is included)

For more advanced students College Preparation and Coaching is available for an additional fee.
