Sharon Playhouse Fall Offerings Include a Joe Iconis Halloween Special, BIG TIM & More

By:

Sharon Playhouse, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Simpkins and Managing Director Justin Ball, presents two fall concert events in their Stage 2 theatre at the Bok Gallery.

The Joe Iconis and Family Rock n Roll Haunted Halloween Special will be presented Saturday, November 1 at 4pm and 7pm. Join Sharon Playhouse favorite Joe Iconis and his frightening family of musical theater hobgoblins for a night of ghoulish rock and roll fun. Songs from spooky musicals, some Halloween-themed Iconis originals, and a body bag full of holiday classics. A night of whiskey ghosts, kazoo spirits, and happy skeletons! Joining Iconis are Jason SweetTooth Williams, Lauren Marcus, Molly Hager, Will Roland, and Jared Weiss.

The first ever reading of Big Tim: A Christmas Carol II will be presented on Saturday, December 6 at 4pm and 7pm. The Sharon Playhouse is developing this new Holiday musical with book & lyrics by Stephen Tomac and music by Michael Shaieb. John Simpkins directs. This performance will feature a sneak peek into the process of a musical in the writing phase- and will include a reading of the script and some of the musical material, followed by a talkback with the writers and director. The Sharon Playhouse plans to produce a full production in December, 2015.

It is 170 years after Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, in a modern city not unlike New York. Scrooge is long dead. Surviving him is his heir: the great-great-great-great-great grandson of Tiny Tim, Tim Cratchit the VIII. Tim is the head of an enormously successful Martha Stewart-like empire devoted to "Honouring Christmas in Your Heart, and Keeping It All the Year." Success has not only made him healthy, but possibly a little too healthy, hence his nickname. Big Tim has devoted his life to celebrating Christmas Every Day. Nothing is too festive, or too grand, or too much. His philosophy is simple: the More, the Merrier. On this Christmas Eve, Big Tim is visited by several ghosts determined to remind him - like Scrooge before - of the true meaning of Christmas. God Bless Us, Everyone.

Tickets for each concert are $20 for adults and $15 for children (12 and under). There is limited seating at both events - and tickets can be reserved by phone only by calling (860) 364-7469 x100.
