Budapest Festival Orchestra
Saturday, February 4th at 8pm
Hungary's acclaimed orchestra performs the Fifth Symphony in an all-Beethoven program featuring pianist Richard Goode. No other musical statement can match its raw power and bracing energy. The acclaimed Budapest Festival Orchestra performs Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, concluding this all-Beethoven program featuring legendary pianist Richard Goode. "On both nights," The New York Times raved, "There was no better orchestra on the planet. Played under the inspired leadership of one of its founders, Iván Fischer."

Twenty-year-old George Li is one of five recipients of a 2016 Avery Fisher Career Grant. He recently returned from Russia, where he performed as part of the Stars on Baikal concert showcasing the winners of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition. Li was among the soloists who participated in Folk, Form, and Fire, an evening of Prokofiev's piano concertos at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music.
The NJPAC program also includes Ravel's poetic Shéhérazade, ouverture de féerie and Leonard Slatkin's Kinah, a musical elegy dedicated to his musician parents.
