Meyer Rossabi Opens for Christine Martucci at Mexicali Live 8/14

The Meyer Rossabi Band brings it's hard rocking electric blues to Mexicali Live to open for The Christine Martucci Band on Saturday, August 14 at 8pm. The Meyer Rossabi Band will feature guitarist Meyer Rossabi, Frankie Cheez on bass, and drummer Paul Kane. This special live performance will feature songs from Rossabi's CD Just A Little Taste of the Blues, as well as tracks from Rossabi's upcoming release, Blues Is The Color. Martucci's special guest will be Aster Pheonyx. Aster recently opened for Martucci at her historic "Pride at The Pony" Concert at The Stone Pony.

Meyer Rossabi is a singer, composer and blues guitarist dedicated to keeping the legacy of the Blues alive. Influenced and inspired by artists such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Healy, Les Paul, StEve Ray Vaughn, and Johnny Winter. Rossabi takes the music of his predecessors and brings it to a new level. Renowned for his firey guitar solos and his smooth soulful voice, Meyer Rossabi is an exciting new voice in American music. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Gary US Bonds and Chuck Berry . Meyer co-wrote the song "Don't Blame Me," featuring vocals by Joan Jett . Meyer wrote the opening song and additional music for the movie "Brooklyn Boys." Meyer's current release, Just A Little Taste of the Blues, is being played on Blues stations across the U.S. and around the world. Frankie Cheez is a performing musician, writer, visionary inventor, producer, sound engineer, and guitar technician. After majoring in production and engineering at the Berklee School of Music, Frankie toured the globe as guitar technician and/or sound engineer for world-renowned artists: 3 Doors Down, The Misfits, American Hi-Fi, and many others. During this time he was also writing songs with The Misfits and Gwar. Now working as a local NY/NJ producer/engineer/writer, Frankie is currently working in the studio with Marky Ramone, producing tracks for his band "Marky Ramones Blitzkrieg", with former Misfits vocalist Michale Graves. Frankie is also currently working with "Gorgeous Frankenstein" (Ex-Misfit guitarist Doyle's band), recording the follow up to their self-titled debut album. Paul Kane who has been playing the New York City club circuit for more than 20 years. Paul has played with numerous bands and has opened for The Psychedelic Furs, Expose, and Stuttering John's Band of Howard Stern fame.


Christine Martucci: Hailed by critics and audiences alike as New Jersey's most energetic and captivating live performer. Christine Martucci has a soulful and powerful voice which demands attention. Her critically acclaimed second CD, "I'm All In", featured the single "There You Are", which received national airplay. The video for "There You Are" is also featured on VH1, MTV, and Logo. The CD was also voted the "Editors Pick" in the August 2007 edition of Curve Magazine and also earned the prestigious 2007 Asbury Park Music Award for "Top Local Release". Ms. Martucci was also the recipient of the Asbury Park Music Award for Top Female Vocalist. Christine has opened for many national acts as well as headlined major venues throughout the country. In July of 2009, Christine previewed her original new rock musical, Breakfast with Janis, with a concert and launch party at The Paramount Theater in Asbury Park. Aster Pheonyx is a 23 year old singer/songwriter who developed her musical roots playing acoustically around the east coast. Her songs are written from the depths of her soul. Aster is steadily building a name for herself as a great live performer all over New Jersey. Aster was a part of the first American Roots Live compilation CD, along with Christine Martucci.
