Artists aged 18 or older who live, work or study in Mercer County, N.J., are invited to submit work to be considered for this year's "Mercer County Artists" exhibit. Artists may enter one or two pieces in any media except photography. (The county hosts a separate "Mercer County Photography" exhibit).

Jurying will take place on Saturday, February 13 at The Gallery at Mercer County Community College. Artwork should be dropped off at The Galley between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Work not selected for the exhibit must be picked up that same afternoon between 3:45 and 5:00 p.m.

Awards and prizes, including the Utrecht Paints Best in Show, the 8th AnnuAl West Windsor Arts Council Prize, and the coveted Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission Purchase Awards, will be announced at the show's Opening Reception, which will take place on Wednesday, February 24, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The show will be on display through April 1.

This year's juror is C.J. Mugavero, owner of The Artful Deposit Gallery, located in historic Bordentown, N.J. She opened the first Artful Deposit Gallery in Monmouth County in 1986, and has been a gallery owner and art dealer ever since. More about her gallery and roster of nationally recognized artists can be viewed at www.theartfuldeposit.com.

A prospectus may be downloaded from the Gallery page at www.mccc.edu/gallery. For a hard copy of the prospectus, artists should email their name, full address and zip code to gallery@mccc.edu or they can pick up a copy in front of The Gallery on the day of the jurying.

This exhibition is co-sponsored by and supported through a grant from the Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission, with funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State. The Gallery is located on the second floor of MCCC's Communications building, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Directions and a campus map can be found at www.mccc.edu.
