The artistic talents of Mercer County Community College's art students will be showcased in this year's "MCCC Visual Arts Student Exhibition," on display from Tuesday, April 24 through Thursday, May 17.

The exhibit is free and open to the public and takes place at The Gallery at MCCC, located on the second floor of the college's Communications Building on the West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.  An Opening Reception is set for Wednesday, April 25, from 5 - 7:30 p.m.

"This exhibit is always one of the most popular in our Gallery season, and for good reason," said Gallery Curator Tricia Fagan. "Mercer has one of the finest visual arts programs in the region, and the talent of our students really shines in this show."

The exhibit features 126 works of art by 63 of the college’s visual and graphic art students.  Nineteen of the works are three-dimensional, and feature works constructed of wood, Styrofoam, ceramics and found objects.  Two-dimensional works represent a multitude of mediums, including oils, watercolor, spray paint, acrylic, printing inks, mixed media, charcoal, gouache, and photography.

Also on display will be the five winning poster designs promoting the exhibit, which were created by students in Mercer’s Advertising Design classes.

Gallery hours for the exhibit are: Sundays, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.; Mondays, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Tuesdays, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.; Wednesdays, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.; Thursdays, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and 5 – 7 p.m.  For more information, call the Gallery at 609-570-3589 or email gallery@mccc.edu.  For additional information on the Gallery, visit www.mccc.edu/gallery.

This show is supported, in part, by the Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission through a grant funded by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, and the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
