Leavel, McLane, Schulman, Lewis, Simunovich et al. Set for 'Sending Our Love to Haiti' Benefit Concert, 2/21

On Sunday, February 21, 2010, a silent auction will be held at 7:00 p.m. followed by an 8:00 p.m. benefit concert for the children of Haiti and their families at the Bergen Performing
Arts Center (PAC) in Englewood, New Jersey. A live auction will be held during intermission. The event is  being underwritten and organized by The Presbyterian Church at Tenafly and Temple Sinai of Bergen County  and being sponsored by over twenty churches and synagogues throughout Bergen County.

The array of Broadway stars performing that evening include current and former leads from the biggest hits on  Broadway; Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Mama Mia, Showboat, Drowsy Chaperone, Chicago, Les  Miserables, Carousel, Young Frankenstein, 42nd Street, Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, Little  Mermaid, along with many others.

From Broadway (some being whisked from a stage in Manhattan to the stage in Englewood), over twenty stars  will be performing including: Beth Leavel (Tony Award Winning actress from The Drowsy Chaperone and  currently starring as Donna Sheridan in Mama Mia); Judy McLane, (critically acclaimed for her role as Vienna  in Johnny Guitar and currently starring in Mama Mia); Craig Schulman (Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, The  Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, and the lead in Jekyll & Hyde.); Norm Lewis (King Triton in Little Mermaid  and Javert in Les Miserables); Page Simonuvich, (Bergen County's own young actress who recently made her  Broadway debut in Finian's Rainbow. ); Steven Skeels (Rusty in Starlight Express) has written a song
choreographed by Brian Thomas, (Emmy nominated choreographer, who has worked with superstars such as;  Michael Jackson, Liza Minnelli, Usher, Whitney Houston and Mary J Blige).

The stage will also be graced with future Broadway stars, Rosie's Broadway Kids. Rosie's Broadway Kids  program is dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts, providing instruction in dance and music  and a professional theater experience for children who might otherwise not have the opportunity.

The evening will also include Stars from the New York Philharmonic: world renowned principal clarinetist,  Mark Nuccio and assistant concert mistress and violinist, Michelle Kim. Also performing will be John  Hancock, now in his 10th season with the Metropolitan Opera.

A special Guest Appearance by Haiti Quartet Buyu Ambroise & The Blues in Red Band featuring Buyu  Ambroise (saxophone), Lou Rainone (piano), Bobby Raymond (bass), Allan Mednard (drums) and Markus  Schwartz (percussion) will fill the night with the Jazz sounds from their homeland.

Tickets are now on sale at all Ticketmaster locations and at the Bergen PAC Theater box office located at 320  Van Brunt Street, Englewood, NJ (201) 227-1030. Ticket prices range from $29.00 to $99.00. A limited  number of Preferred Tickets are available directly through the Presbyterian Church at Tenafly and Temple Sinai  of Bergen County for $250.00 (Silver Sponsor) and $500.00 (Gold Sponsor).

The concert begins at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night; a cocktail reception will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Solaia Bar  and Restaurant located adjacent to the theater for Gold and Silver sponsors. In addition, Gold sponsors will also  be invited to a post-show party at Solaia to meet members of the cast.
