The Concert Artists will perform a piece composed by Liduino Pitombeira, a Brazilian composer, based on an ancient Chinese philosophical concept "Five Elements;" the Chinese artists will play works for traditional instruments including the Xun, Erhu, Pipa, Sheng, and Dizi; and the concert will conclude with an exciting collaboration-ten artists sharing the stage to perform the World Premiere of a commissioned work for western string quintet and traditional Chinese instruments.

The Concert Artists are nationally and internationally renowned musicians who form a professional chamber music ensemble that performs some 10-15 concerts annually, on campus and elsewhere.
