James A. Stephens to Star as Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL at the McCarter, Additional Casting Announced

James A. Stephens is set to star as Scrooge in the McCarter Theatre's production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL from December 6th through 27th. The production will be directed by Michael Unger and Rob Ashford will choreograph the holiday classic.

The rest of the cast will include Lisa Altomare, Justin Blanchard, Bill Buell, David Furr, Richard Gallagher, Karron Graves, Simon Kendall, Angela Lin, Janet Metz, Ronica Reddick and Michele Tauber in the lead roles. The ensemble will feature Brittany Beatty, Eric Carsia, Andrew Chappelle, Lauryn Ciardullo, Judah Gavra, Shanna Heverly, Alex Jorth, Will Porter, Trina Shumsonk, Louise Stewart, and George Tobey.

The cast will also feature a children's ensemble, comprised of Lindsay Gloriana Bohon, Andrew Chamberlain, Hayden Clark, Mariel Edokwe, Alex Fasolo, Annika Goldman, Danny Hallowell, Emma Kilyk, Anna Kralik, Matthew Kuenne, Lauren Lynch, Asher Muldoon, Elsa Rodriguez, and Reed Christine Schmidt.

The story centers around Ebenezer Scrooge on his magical journey through Christmas past, present, and future, and experience the show that embodies the peace and goodwill of the season. The creative team will feature director Michael Unger and choreographer Rob Ashford, along with scenic design by Ming Cho Lee, sound design by Brian Ronan and costume design by Jess Goldstein. In addition, the production will feature original music by composer Michael Starobin.

Performance for A CHRISTMAS CAROL will take place Tuesday through Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm and 5:30pm. A special Christmas Eve performance will take place December 24th at 12:00pm and 4:00pm. Tickets range in price from $41 to $56 and may be purchased online at ticketing.mccarter.org or by calling the McCarter box office at 609-258-ARTS (2787).
