Set during the Renaissance, “Something Rotten!” is a celebration of Broadway and a send-up of the most famous writer the Western world has ever known — William Shakespeare. The cast includes Lee Hollis Bussie as Shakespeare, Scott Cote as Brother Jeremiah, Jacob Erdody as Nigel, Ryan Halsaver as Nick Bottom, Mary McNulty as Portia, Rachel Alexa Norman as Bea, and Doug Shapiro as Nostradamus. The ensemble features Jorge Barranco, Sara Coombs, Gio Coppola, Becca Gottlieb, Gabriel Hobbs, Alex Jorth, Hannah Nye, and Sophie Pankhurst. Choreography is by Sara Coombs. “Something Rotten!” was conceived by Karey Kirkpatrick and Wayne Kirkpatrick, with a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, and music and lyrics by the Kirkpatrick brothers. The original Broadway production premiered at the St. James Theatre on April 22, 2015, and received 10 Tony Awards nominations, including Best Musical.
