Dive In Productions is proud to present the third installment of their Dive In-Cubator staged reading series with the new musical Real, enough. With book and lyrics by Marina Altschiller-Gannon and music by Marina Altschiller-Gannon and Michael Freitag, Real, enough tells a story about love, in every sense of the word.
When Claire, a writer running from a life that no longer feels like her own, moves to a
small town to try and write the story that will finally make it all make sense, she meets Sarah, a woman trying to rebuild after the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend, Alex. Claire soon discovers that Alex isn’t entirely gone; he’s a ghost, he’s wandering, he’s...kind of a floating cliché.
When Claire offers to help Alex finish his “unfinished business,” it sets all three of them on a path they never could have expected. As Claire and Sarah’s friendship grows, Claire’s connection with Alex deepens into something surprising, joyful, and impossible. Through humor, heart, and original music, Real, enough explores holding on, letting go, and all the messy, ordinary moments where love teaches us the lessons we need to learn.
The evening will consist of a staged reading with a talkback to follow.
