BIO
I was born in 1958 in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia while we lived in Wankie. My parents were working-class, honest, caring folk. We led a frugal life but spent every moment enjoying nature in some way. We always had a productive garden and outdoor time was greatly encouraged.
Every weekend we would go somewhere into the bush, either fishing on the Zambezi, or just picnicking. We had a deep respect for every living thing and this still continues with each generation.
5 years in the military followed by 30 years living and working for Tanganda Tea company provided the perfect ability to be in nature always.
I am married to Claire and our two children, Gary ( married to Julie) and Michelle ( married to Allen) have blessed us with 5 grandchildren. Tristan, Sabi, and Alexis in the USA, and Misty and Nikita in Zimbabwe.
Now we are living happily in North America in a fantastic community, reminiscent of our old Rhodesia/Zimbabwe days. Our animals, bush, and seasons are quite different but no less spectacular..
This book comes from my heart and with much encouragement from family and great friends who have enjoyed canoeing and bush trips with me. According to mates - “the stories need to be told”
