No less than three performances co-produced by Operadagen Rotterdam have been included on the shortlist of sixteen projects for the FEDORA GENERALI Prize for Opera, a prominent award for 'new opera creations of excellence'. Harriet, Prisoner of the State, and We, the drowned each stand a chance of winning 150,000 for further development. The nominations serve as an acknowledgement of Operadagen Rotterdam's growing role as a co-producer and its enthusiasm for investing in talented makers. The festival collaborates with experienced producing organisations on developing new performances and showing them to the public. The winner, partly decided by public vote, will be announced in June 2018. Voting is now open via the FEDORA website.

An Indo French Singaporean co-production, the film will be screened in the Bright Future Section of IFFR 2018 to be held between 24th January and 4th February.

If someone offered me to pay money to take a look at another family's arguments for two and a half hours, I'd probably decline. This is exactly what PALM SPRINGS does: portray a family on Christmas Eve who quarrel on and on. And the translated production of OTHER DESERT CITIES does this with success. The production is on a limited run until February 5 at the DeLaMar Theater in Amsterdam. I visited the show during last weekend's BGL Nationaal Theaterweekend at a sold-out Saturday night performance.

I visited the show a few times on Broadway last year and it is an irresistible that literally gets the audience on their feet.' The production in the Netherlands is the first production outside the United States. Emilio and Gloria Estefan will visit the Netherlands this week to present the musical to the Dutch audience. Gloria Estefan will also present a Musical Award during Thursday's Musical Awards Gala.
