“The Dream of the Burning Boy is an eloquent and affecting look at death’s nature to impose temporary disorder on those left behind, and how we learn to progress beyond it. Since the death of favored student, high-school teacher, Larry Morrow has been falling asleep at his desk and dreaming. The school’s guidance counselor is hanging inspirational posters around the school to help everyone “process their emotions.” the student’s sister and friends- more agitated than usual- find little solace in Dante’s Inferno. As Larry’s dreams intensify, a long held secret is exposed. is profoundly moving and extraordinarily lifelike in its portrayal of the human inability to cope with grief,” says director Allison Driskill. “GASP’s staging will embrace the immersive quality of the play, dropping the audience into the lives of the students that this script understands so well.”
