Puccini's Madame Butterfly is an intimate and devastating portrait of love and loss, following Cio-Cio-san, a young geisha whose unwavering faith in an American naval officer's promise leads her toward heartbreak. Soprano Karen Chia-ling Ho takes on the title role, joined by mezzo-soprano Kristen Choi as Suzuki, tenor John Pickle as B.F. Pinkerton, bass-baritone Richard Ollarsaba as Sharpless, tenor Julius Ahn as Goro, and bass-baritone Zizhao Wang as The Bonze. Judith Yan conducts and Dean Anthony directs.
