Every Brilliant Thing
by Duncan Macmillan, with Jonny Donahoe - February 22 through March 10
A child learns that her mother has been hospitalized because, as her father says, she did something stupid. She resolves to show her mom that life is worth living, by writing out a list of Brilliant Things and leaving it for her mother to find. She never mentioned it to me, says the daughter, But I know she read it because she corrected my spelling.
Every Brilliant Thing offers an unflinching view of depression and the things we do for those we love. Far from sad or tragic, the play is filled with love and sincerity, with hope and even humor. This rare theater experience involves the audience in the story, evoking empathy, tears, laughter, insight and deep compassion. Becky Wahlstrom stars. Performances:
7:30 pm Feb 22, 23, 28, March 1, 2, 7, 8 & 9
2:30 pm Feb 24, March 3 & 10
