Playhouse 615 Presents the Regional Premiere of Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors — Opening October 18 Just in time for Halloween season, Playhouse 615 is thrilled to announce the regional premiere of Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, a fresh and hilarious spin on the gothic classic by Bram Stoker. Running October 18 through November 3, this fast-paced, laugh-out-loud reimagining promises audiences a bloodcurdlingly funny theatrical experience. This new take on Dracula is directed by Ann Street-Kavanagh, who saw the Off-Broadway run and was inspired to bring its humor and innovative style to local audiences. “Directing this show has been a dream of mine,” says Street-Kavanagh. “At Playhouse 615, we love to bring new works to our audiences, and this regional premiere is sure to delight. Our cast has worked tirelessly to put together a truly spook-tacular production!” Starring Jeremy James Carmichael as the infamous Count Dracula, along with a stellar cast including Robert Coles, Katie Fraley, Beth Henderson, and Jonathan Joyner, the production brings a whirlwind of quick character changes, gender-bending roles, and an array of clever wordplay and pop culture references. The show is packed with laughs as vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing and her companions chase Dracula from Transylvania to the British countryside and beyond. The show promises a visual treat alongside its humor, with inventive staging and technical artistry designed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
