Les danses de mai, Opus 2026 (Henri Michaux: Mouvements / Noetic) at Tangente

Les danses de mai, Opus 2026 brings together graduating students of the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in two landmark works from the international contemporary repertoire, performed at Tangente from May 20 to 23. Marie Chouinard's Henri Michaux: Mouvements transforms the ink drawings of poet and painter Henri Michaux into a choreographic score, with the drawings projected alongside the dancers' bodies to create a visual and embodied dialogue. Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's Noetic, originally created for Göteborgsoperans Danskompani, explores humanity's instinct to structure and deconstruct reality through movement that is both mechanical and deeply collective.
