Les danses croisées brings together first- and second-year students of the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in a program of three works at Tangente. The dancers perform Vena cava by Christopher House, former artistic director of Toronto Dance Theatre, whose fluid and musical choreographic style foregrounds the collective and the intelligence of the moving body. The program also features Summertime by Manuel Roque, known for his exploration of endurance and presence, alongside a new creation by Ethan Colangelo, whose rhythmic and physical choreographic language has been commissioned by Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and Ballet BC, among others.
