Hamlet, Prince of Denmark at Monument-National

Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is a collaboration between director Robert Lepage and choreographer Guillaume Côté, performed by an ensemble of nine dancers with set design and a musical score by John Gzowski. The production approaches Shakespeare's play entirely through dance, with movement replacing words to explore the tormented prince's shadows and humanity. Lepage, founder of Ex Machina, brings his theatrical expertise to the work, while Côté, founder of Côté Danse, contributes his choreographic vision, making the production accessible to both dance and Shakespeare audiences.
