Theater Mu's world premiere of MAYBE YOU COULD LOVE ME follows two best friends, Noor and Sajida, as they try to decide whether their love for each other can unlock who they're meant to be, or if it will cause their world to crumble. This painfully funny love story goes from childhood to early adulthood and looks at bravery, belonging, and the paths we choose. "[Meghjee says,] 'Their relationship leads to this universal experience that we’ve all had: falling in love with someone that you can’t have for whatever logistical or emotional reason.' ...With MAYBE YOU COULD LOVE ME, Meghjee is staking a claim for stories that are both unapologetically queer and Muslim." —Lavender Magazine ASL interpretation on Sept 14, audio description on Sept 21, open captions on Sept 20 & 27 (7:30 p.m. shows). All Sunday shows require audience masks. Accessible seating, large-print playbills, and sensory kits are available at each show.
Ages: Ages 16+ is recommended. The show contains: adult language and situations, swearing, references to sexual relationships, homophobia, onstage costume changes (actors will be wearing undergarments), and depicted intimacy.
