Quite frequently the twin cities sees lovers, spouses and siblings on stage together, but less often do they see parent and child.  Proof marks Kurt Schweickhardt and Amy Schweickhardt's Second Stage appearance together portraying these close-to-home roles, father and daughter, after Minnesota Shakespeare Project's 2007 production of King Lear.

Both are excited to tackle the story of Catherine who, after the death of her father, is left to pull together her own life; a life that was set aside to care for her ailing father, a famous mathematician. She must deal with his legacy; hundreds of notebooks that most likely hold the ramblings of a man slowly losing his genius, but may reveal the last great work of a brilliant mind.  Now she is forced to face her own life and can no longer avoid her possible inheritance; genius or insanity.

Proof is the inaugural production of The Phoenix Theater Project, a non-profit theater company devoted to building community through the collaborative creation of theater.  Performances run September 10th through the 25th at the People's Center Theater located at 425 20th Avenue South  Minneapolis, MN with tickets available for $15.

Directed by Ellen Fenster, the cast includes Amy Schweickhardt, Kurt Schweickhardt*, Matt Rein and Ana Buckingham.  For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit www.thephoenixtheaterproject.org or call 612-568-3004.
