Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre Company is accepting applicants for itsnew SHAKESPEARE AT THE ROSE class scheduled for January 27 - March 10, 2014 at the Purple Rose rehearsal facility in Chelsea, Michigan. Workshop hours are Mondays, 7 - 11pm.

This new class will help take the fear out of performing Shakespeare! Learn how to approach the text, find the truth and apply fundamental principles of acting to classic scenes and monologues. This class will give you the tools to approach Shakespeare with a sense of confidence, adventure and honesty. Some rehearsal outside of class with a group is required.

PRTC Resident Artist Michelle Mountain says, "We're going to find the life in Shakespeare and his language. We will approach the work as if these are new plays and focus on finding the people in the Bard's work as opposed to the stereotypical, archetypal characters." Purple Rose Artistic Director, Guy Sanville and Purple Rose Resident Artist, Michelle Mountain, will teach the class.

The workshop is for people of all skill levels ages 18 and over. The fee is $400.00. Class size is limited to 16. Registration information for SHAKESPEARE AT THE ROSE is available by phone at 734.433.7782 and online at http://www.purplerosetheatre.org/education/classes.
