The Railroad Switch Problem at White Mouse Theatre

The Railroad Switch Problem is an original science-fiction drama by Hal Presley about ambition, identity, and the consequences of trying to control the uncontrollable. Dr. Farren Bohr and their team have done the impossible: they have invented time travel. But when the first trial goes catastrophically wrong, Farren is forced to confront a fractured timeline—and the terrifying possibility that every attempt to fix it may only make things worse. Featuring a complex nonbinary protagonist, a central lesbian relationship, and a story that asks difficult questions about unchecked technology and human fallibility, The Railroad Switch Problem blends high-concept sci-fi with deeply personal stakes. Following a developmental reading in spring 2026, White Mouse Theatre presents the play’s first full production this October.
