My Name is Rachel Corrie is constructed from the real journals, emails, and writings of American activist Rachel Corrie, edited by Alan Rickman and Katharine Viner. The play traces Rachel's journey from an introspective teenager in Olympia, Washington to her final months in Gaza in 2003, capturing her humor, vulnerability, idealism, and urgency through her own words. Directed by Daniel Gil and starring Celia Voges, a graduate of New World School of the Arts making her professional debut, the production also marks the inauguration of True Mirage Theater's new black box venue in Miami's Pinecrest/Kendall area.
