Empire Stage Theater is pleased to present the Florida premiere of Hell's Belles, a satirical musical comedy featuring famous and infamous women in Hell. Kevin Dean directs a devilishly talented cast of four that includes Larry Buzzeo, Sharyn Peoples, Trevor Peringer and Lauren Tuma.
This limited run of Hell's Belles will be at Empire Stage Theater, 1140 N Flagler Drive, Ft. Lauderdale on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 5pm, from April 11 May 5, 2019. In Hell's theatre district, a show-biz-loving devil hosts a revue featuring famous and infamous women from history. Hear Janis Joplin celebrate sex, drugs, booze and rock n roll. Watch the epic showdown between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. Witness Princess Diana's surprise visit from Heaven. These are just some of the women you'll meet in the underworld's longest-running club.
Hell's Belles was initially presented as a benefit performance at NYC's Lesbian & Gay Community Services Center, with additional productions at the Duplex, the Wings Theatre, The West End Theatre and the Midtown Theatre. The Off-Broadway production ran at the Elektra Theatre.
Hell's Belles is produced by Empire Stage Theater, by special arrangement with Tweiss Productions, LLC. Book & Lyrics: Bryan D. Leys; Music: Steve Liebman; Director: Kevin Dean; Cast: Larry Buzzeo, Sharyn Peoples, Trevor Peringer and Lauren Tuma; Music Direction: Paul Tine; Original Costume Design: Gail Cooper-Hecht; Production Stage Manager: Kacey Koploff.
EMPIRE STAGE THEATER is an artist-driven collective that produces new and existing works for the diverse audiences of Fort Lauderdale, including the LGBT and Senior populations. Empire Stage Theater presents dynamic works originating from both the New York City and South Florida theatrical communities. It is our goal to offer theater artists a supportive environment where they can collaborate, take risks and develop as writers, directors, actors, designers, and producers.
