(04/04/2017) - Me and My Girl, a splashy musical about a British bloke who discovers he's nobility, and The Royale, a powerful play by Miami native Marco Ramirez, based on the first black boxing champion, took their respective places in South Florida theatrical history as Best Musical and Best Play on Monday, April 3rd  when the winners of the 41st annual Carbonell Awards were announced. The lavish ceremony was held at Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, and   featured performances from each show nominated for Best Musical.

(03/06/2017) - Smokey Robinson brought the sounds of Motown to the Kravis Center in Palm Beach last night and there wasn't one woman in the audience that didn't became his girl after he sang 'My GIrl', The Temtations signature tune which Smokey and Ronald White wrote and produced in 1964. Smokey Robinson wrote Motown's first song to reach No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart, Shop Around, for The Miracles, a group he formed while still in high school. The Detroit native would go on to write many Miracles hits, including The Tracks of My Tears, I Second That Emotion and Tears of a Clown (with Stevie Wonder), plus songs for other Motown legends. Fifty years later, his high tenor voice remains a national treasure. The spectacular evening was sponsored by Sunny Sessa in loving memory memory of Leonardo Sessa, and Smokey's performance will surely be a loving memory for all who filled the Kravis Center to hear his great music.

(02/08/2017) - This is what it must have been like in the golden years of Las Vegas.  The darkened room, an off-stage announcement 'Ladies and Gentleman, The Sands Hotel is proud to present'... then starts the glorious harmonic blaring arrangements of a Count Basie sounding orchestra blasting the intro..next…..casually strolling out, one of the coolest looking singers ever, drink in hand, turns to his musical director and asks 'How long have I been on'?  Deana Martin brought you back to those years when her dad and 'Uncle Frank' had the world on a string at Dick Robinson's Legend Radio's Gala Concert in Palm Beach Florida.  It was a a spectacular concert show of 'Deana Sings Dino' celebrating her father's 100th birthday. The proud daughter brought along her 18-piece orchestra to let the fans hear what it sounded like back in the day.  It's in the genes, and Deana Martin with an effervescent personality and brilliant command of a stage, vocally reminds you of all the music that still thrills millions. You even got to see some touching family home movies and legendary performance clips of Dean & Jerry.  Legend Radio's event also celebrated it's 3rd birthday event and Dick Robinson is not just preserving the Great American Songbook, he's creating a whole new chapter.
