Keeping the Music Alive - the legendary Wailers continue to bring their revolutionary sound to fans around the world. Steered by famed bassist and founder Aston "Familyman" Barrett, and joined in solidarity with original Wailers' guitarists Julian Junior Marvin and Donald Kinsey prove, in every possible way, Bob Marley's vision is still alive. The Wailers continue to deliver Bob's powerful message of "Jah love and unity". There are more than 100 million Bob Marley & the Wailers recordings sold worldwide, including 1977's Exodus, anointed Best Album of the Century in 1999 by Time magazine, and "One Love", named Song of the Millennium that same year by BBC. Spin magazine listed Bob Marley & the Wailers at #4 of the "50 Greatest Bands of All Times," while The New York Times named Bob Marley the most significant musician of the 20th century. These accolades were made possible by the creative, timeless, and distinctive music, lyrics and production of these incomparable Wailers musicians.

Join Walter Parks on April 14th at 1pm as he shares more than his musical knowledge in a Singer/Songwriter Workshop. He will discuss a variety of topics about the many hats an artist wears and how to remain true to your art and make a living as well. His focus will center around the partnership of art and commerce, the asset of style and honoring roots, accompaniment, and zen and value. This will be an intimate workshop on the historic Lyric Stage and is limited to 50 attendees. The workshop will include a ticket to Walter Parks' Swamp by Chandelier - Spirituals Reimagined 7:00pm performance the evening of the workshop.Ticket Price for the workshop is $20 for Students and $40 Adults (16 years of age and up). Walter Parks is an American original and a study in contrasts. Appearing in his one-man show, Swamp by Chandelier - Spirituals Reimagined the Jacksonville, Florida native is dedicated to giving voice to the music of north Florida and the Georgia swamps.In Spirituals Reimagined, Parks will present his own compositions of spirituals, hymns and worksongs that were the soundtrack to modern America as well as the songs that they have inspired. "Great Gig in the Sky", a gospel song inspired by a Pink Floyd tune; "Georgia Rice/Up From Under", a song about the trek of slaves south into Florida; the hymn "How Great Thou Art"; "Freedom", an upbeat song Richie Havens improvised; "Amazing Grace"; and "Way Down in the Hole", an upbeat version of the Tom Waits song that was the theme for the television series, The Wire. It is an eclectic mix, to be sure. Proudly presented by The Arts Council of Martin County and The Lyric Theatre.
