"We are excited to inaugurate our new Signature Pops Series as we celebrate the spirit of the season with the inimitable holiday music of the ever-popular Mannheim Steamroller," said M. John Richard, president and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center. "Their Christmas show has been an annual holiday tradition around the country for 25 years, right along with trimming the tree, exchanging gifts, and enjoying time with family and friends," Richard added.

Mannheim Steamroller reigns as the top-selling recording artist of all time in the Christmas music genre, and is one of the top 50 biggest-selling musical acts ever. Composer and creator Chip Davis started the group more than 30 years ago with his Grammy Award-winning Fresh Aire series. Since then, Mannheim Steamroller has sold more than 35 million albums and their annual Christmas tour is consistently ranked as one of the best-selling tours in the entire music business each year. The group's runaway hit recording Mannheim Steamroller Christmas (1984) infused new life into traditional Christmas music and has sold more than 5 million copies. After its release, "Deck the Halls" became a Top 40 Adult Contemporary hit and "Stille Nacht" (Silent Night) was nominated for a Grammy for Best Instrumental Arrangement.

In conjunction with the group's 25th Anniversary Christmas Tour this season, Mannheim Steamroller is releasing a retrospective 2-CD set, Mannheim Steamroller Christmas - 25th Anniversary Collection, featuring 25 of their famous holiday classics. This Thanksgiving, the group participated in the annual Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade in New York City for the first time. Mannheim Steamroller band members were part of a float depicting the natural wonders of South Dakota.

Grammy Award-winning composer/musician Chip Davis is one of the most successful innovators and entrepreneurs in music today. He is the creator and leading member of the world-renowned recording group Mannheim Steamroller, for which he has produced hundreds of sold-out concerts around the world. In addition, he is founder and president of his own record company, American Gramaphone, which stands out as one of the most successful independent music franchises in history.

More than 25 years ago, Chip Davis transformed popular instrumental music by introducing what has become known as the New Age music genre. By mixing pop music with classical and rock styles, he has given new life to country music and rejuvenated Christmas music with the release of his best-selling series of holiday albums, including the landmark 1984 Mannheim Steamroller Christmas recording. In 1985, he launched "The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller" concert tour, which has become a holiday tradition around the country.

Upcoming concerts in the 2010-2011 Signature Pops Series include: superstar romantic crooner Michael Bolton on January 17; the legendary BOSTON POPS ESPLANADE ORCHESTRA, under the baton of renowned conductor Keith Lockhart on March 19; and the series closes with the first family of classical music --THE 5 BROWNS setting their Steinways on fire on March 30.
