The Hollywood Boulevard Theatre opens the 2005/2006 season on October 21 with The Apple Tree, a musical by Harnick and Bock, who also wrote Fiddler on the Roof.  The Apple Tree is a collection of three short stories all dealing with men, women and a little thing called temptation.  The stories are The Diary of Adam and Eve, by Mark Twain, The Lady or The Tiger?  by Frank R. Stockton and Passionella  by Jules Feiffer.  The Apple Tree was originally produced on Broadway by Stuart Ostrow. The original director was Mike Nichols, and additional material was supplied by Jerome Coopersmith. The Apple Tree is presented under a special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Avi Hoffman and Laura Turnbull, the well known South Florida based acting couple star in this charming musical.  Avi Hoffman is a well known personality throughout the country for his one man presentations of Too Jewish? and Too Jewish 2.  Laura Turnbull has worked extensively throughout the region and was last year's recipient of the Carbonell Award for Best Actress in The Goat, Or Who is Sylvia at GableStage. The couple, together were part of the Carbonell winning ensemble for Jaques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in  Paris at Palm Beach Drama Works. Featured in The Apple Tree is the exciting newcomer, Tangi Colobel, who was also part of the Carbonell Award winning ensemble at Palm Beach Drama Works.

The Apple Tree is directed by Marjorie O'Neill-Butler, who is also president of The Theatre League of South Florida. Ms. O'Neill-Butler  is well known in  South Florida as an actress, director and producer. Her next assignment will be the premiere presentation of the new Inside-Out Theatre Company's production Whose Life is it, Anyway?  Musical Direction is by David Nagy.

The Apple Tree previews Wednesday, October 19 and Thursday, October 20 and opens October 21. The Apple Tree runs through November 13. Performances are:   Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat at 8:00 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM.
