THEY Improv's 'Blue Collar Tribute' At FIU

By: Feb. 09, 2008

THEY improv's comedy is going to Get-R-Done in a Blue Collar Tribute at FIU on February 19th.

THEY improv, leaders in South Florida college entertainment, continues to change the face of comedy with their tribute to Larry the Cable Guy in honor of the new movie, Witless Protection, on Tuesday, February 19th at FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus at 8pm.

The show will feature some of South Florida's best comedic talent coming together to give FIU students a good-ole' time.

"The Blue Collar man is taking over our colleges," said director of THEY improv, Todd Rice. "We're just going to give a tongue-in-cheek tribute that will have everyone's necks turning a little red from laughter."

The show will include a Blue Collar 'joke off' and some promotional trinket giveaways from Witless Protection given out to audience members.

"We've expanded and have troupe members throughout the country," continued Rice. "It's great to be appreciated by our home audience right here in South Florida."

The show is being offered through FIU's Biscayne Bay Dramatics theatre program and is free for all FIU students with ID. Non-FIU students must pay $5 for admission. There is no 2-drink minimum and no age requirement. Smoking is not allowed in the theatre.

Non-students may reserve seats by calling and leaving a message on the THEY improv Hotline at (305) 948-7750. THEY improv will provide the list to the University representatives and seats will be held back by them until 5 minutes prior to showtime. Doors open at 7:45 pm and the show begins at 8pm.

FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus is at 3000 NE 151st Street in North Miami. Simply go to US-1 (Biscayne Blvd.) and 151st Street and head East until you see FIU on the left. The show is in the Mary Ann Wolfe Theatre. Parking is allowed for non-students in the student parking area after 7pm. For further information visit www.Theyimprov.com.
