"Side by Side by Sondheim"
The acclaimed musical revue by award-winning Stephen Sondheim Opens July 6th at Palm Beach Dramaworks.
West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, will present "Side by Side by Sondheim" -- the celebrated musical revue featuring 30 songs by the incomparable Stephen Sondheim as their summer musical offering, opening on Friday, July 6th (8PM) at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard). A special priced preview performance is slated for Thursday, July 5th at 8PM. The production will play through August 26th.
Performed by a cast of three and a narrator, Side by Side by Sondheim combines fascinating musical theatre background and biographical tidbits along with hit musical numbers including: "If Mama Was Married" (from Gypsy ), "Broadway Baby" (from Follies ), "Comedy Tonight" (from A Funny Thing ), "A Boy Like That" (from West Side Story ), and "Side by Side by Side" (from Company). The revue features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; with music by Jule Styne, Leonard Bernstein, Mary Rodgers and Richard Rodgers and continuity by NEd Sherrin.
Performance times are Wednesday through Saturdays at 8PM with matinees on Saturday and Sundays at 2PM. Individual tickets are $40 for evening performances and $38 for matinees. Group rates for 20 or more, and discounted season subscriptions are also available. The theatre is located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach , at 322 Banyan Boulevard , between Dixie Highway and Olive Avenue, Florida 33401 . Parking is offered across the street for a nominal fee, or in the City Garage on the corner of Olive Avenue and Banyan Boulevard for $1.00 per hour with the first hour free!
